Recently I've begun to ask brides, "Do you want your mom to dance or wash dishes at the wedding?" That's the best picture I can give them of what mom (or the maid of honor....or the bride herself) will be doing...IF they don't hire a wedding planner.

Well, I just ran across an article I wrote a couple of years ago. Read for yourself~

the Mother of the Bride said:

She was very thorough and she knew what she was doing. She knew all the little things that were "proper" at a wedding & she had lots of ideas. I would have been so lost without her. I feel as though she went above and beyond what was expected of her. She really loves her job & it shows. She's very friendly but she can also be stern when there's a problem and I liked that about her. She would always tell me to let her be the bad guy if someone was being "difficult". I could relax because I knew she was handling all the details, so I got to be right where I needed to be the day of the wedding, with my daughter. We also had her decorate the honeymoon sweet with rose petals & candles ect.. It was SO romantic! She really helped us feel special for this very special day. I would recommend her highly.

Where Did I Put My Earrings??????

In order to avoid panic on your Wedding Day (and even a few days before!).... purchase three storage tubs (or get three shopping bags, boxes, whatever...).
Label the first one "Rehearsal Dinner". In this one you will put everything you need to take to your Rehearsal Dinner: special napkins, place cards, guest favors, music CD, attendant gifts, etc.

The second box is to be labeled "Ceremony". Put everything you will need to take to the ceremony venue including your undies, shoes, veil, garter, all jewelry you will be wearing (necklace, earrings), MARRIAGE LICENSE, RINGS, etc, etc....which will keep you from that last-minute panic of, "I put my earrings in a special place so I wouldn't forget them....and now I can't find them!"

And lastly, the third box is for the "Reception". You will want to include napkins, place cards, guest favors, bubbles or whatever will be used for the 'exit', etc.

Now you can breath a sigh of relief, sit back, relax and ENJOY the celebration!

Ann answered the phone immediately when my Mom and I frantically called her in November 2006. I had just gotten engaged to David and we decided our wedding was to be in the Atlanta area on November 10, 2007. As I was moving to Phoenix and my Mom lived in Wisconsin, we didn't know where to start. This is where Ann took over. She listened to what we were looking for and what our budget would allow. She suggested vendors to choose from, made appointments with them, drove us to the appointments, but let us make the final decisions. We made one trip to Atlanta in December and by the time we flew home two days later, my Mom and I had arranged for the church, reception, flowers, photographer, DJ, table linens and the wedding cake. The other items were handled later or by phone/e-mail. Ann had a way of reassuring us that everything would work out and it did. Her professionalism and calming nature took the stress out of what could have been a very stressful day. (She even arranged for picture perfect weather! :-) She had wonderful ideas to make the occasion truly personal and unique. Even my Dad said Ann's fee was the best money spent out of all the wedding expenses. My wedding was everything I'd ever dreamed of and we couldn't have done it without Ann. If you are getting married and want someone to help that is warm, knowledgeable and professional, call Ann White Weddings. We are so glad we did!

It is my belief that every bride should have her own unique wedding....no matter what style or budget. Anyone can buy a dress, hire a photographer, florist and caterer... and get married! It's the things you do after all your vendors are secured that makes your wedding unique and memorable.
One idea that will give your wedding a personal touch is to attach a broach, maybe one passed down in your family, to the ribbon that is wrapped around your flowers. This could be your "something old" or your "something new" in your trousseau...and would let someone in your family know how special they are to you!

Last week we had the privilege of attending the open house for a new wedding venue in Larkspur: Spruce Mountain Ranch! It is a beautiful, beautiful venue that would make wedding dreams come true for any bride & groom! Call me and we'll go visit together!

Okay....we may not get to have our picture taken like our team on the left (you can tell we are ALL seriousness here!)....but we will certainly enjoy the magnificent sights this ranch provides for an unforgettable event!

A. Number one focus for the bride should be the groom. Number one focus for the groom, the bride – relishing every moment that happens between them, their friends and family and enjoying the festivities.

When a bride and groom take on the role of coordinator themselves, many of those special moments take a back seat to all the time-consuming details of the day. Although the details are important, it makes for unnecessary distraction.

Often I’ve seen coordinator-less weddings … what I also inevitably see: a bride that is being asked a plethora of questions on a day that is already emotion-filled. Why add stress to the equation? Fast-moving train … no conductor … get it?

Here I sit on a snowy Sunday afternoon in January and although I’m enjoying a nice, relaxing day my thoughts are turning to the newly engaged bride-to-be! She’s just received the engagement ring of her dreams and has called every friend she has ever known to give them the good news of her upcoming Special Day!
